Domestic Water Pumps

Domestic water pumps are essential for any building or household. These water pumps are used so that we could have instantaneous hot water at every hot water tap. Domestic water pumps have two different pipe work systems: the single loop system and the branched system.

In a single loop system, the hot water is mainly used by single family houses. This system also depends on lay out of the pipe work. For the branched system, domestic water pumps for hot water are mainly used in multi-family houses up to 12 accommodations. This system will work if the pump’s circulation controllers are also installed for circuit regulation.

For domestic water pumps such as the Vortex, user convenience and energy conservation is of primary importance. The heating system of the Vortex has an automatic on and off switching for domestic water pumps. Hot water temperature is also limited, through the control and accessories of the device.

Parts Of Domestic Water Pumps

There are different parts of a domestic water pump. Basically, domestic water pumps are built based on the principle of a spherical motor. A spherical motor and rotor is generated by a magnetic field. The spherical motor directly affects the responding rotor. The cap nut provides quick separation of the motor from the pump housing, making descaling the water carrying section and cleaning much easier. The pump housing can be a V pump housing or R ½” housing. The non return valve ensures proper circulation system. In V pump housing, non return valve and ball shut off valve are integrated within its system. In R ½” housing, non return valve and ball shut off valve must be installed as extras.

The thermostat control component of the domestic hot water pumps are composed of Anti-scaling Thermostat KT and Electronic regulating thermostat ERT. These two thermostats have sensors that are positioned directly to the water carrying part and automatic switching system. Other than these parts, a domestic water pump also has time control component and multi function module control component. This device also has a circulation controller. The circulation controller is a valve that opens and closes when there are changes in the temperature of the circulation line. The automatic control is the responsibility of the thermostat element. Vortex circulation controller is suitable for thermal disinfection and is provided with a bypass. The advantage of this device is that it gives constant hot water from every tap.

Things To Do Before Installing New Domestic Water Pumps

Before you can install a domestic water pump system, you need to purge and bleed the circulation through a venting flange. This is done so that the bearings will not be damaged due to dry running. First, cut power and water supply of the water pump. Turn off the suction. Then, unscrew the cap nut and remove the motor from the pump housing. Second, screw the venting flange into the pump housing. Slip the drain hose on to the nose flange. Third, open the suction then purge and bleed the circulation. Bleeding and purging is finished if there are no bubbles and dirt on the emerging water. Fourth, shut off the water supply, remove the flange, return the motor tightly and reopen water supply. By switching the pump on and off, you will be able to remove any residue left.

The typical applications of domestic water pumps include high rise buildings, manufacturing and industrial processes, hotel and condominiums, hospital and health services, schools, universities, facilities, multi-facility complexes and power generation facilities.
